New Leadership at Brandon Hospital: A Familiar Face Returns to Serve a Growing Community |

As Brandon continues to grow, so does the demand for high-quality healthcare. This month, one of the community's most important institutions welcomed back a familiar leader.
HCA Florida Brandon Hospital has named Steve Young as its new Chief Executive Officer, returning to a hospital where he previously served as Chief Operating Officer before leading two other HCA Florida hospitals.
For Brandon residents, this leadership change is about more than a new name on the executive office door. It comes at a time when the community is experiencing continued residential growth, bringing increased demand for emergency services, specialty care, and expanded medical facilities.
Young brings more than 18 years of healthcare leadership experience within HCA Healthcare. During his previous time in Brandon, he helped oversee several major expansion projects, including emergency department improvements, operating room expansion, enhancements to women's services, graduate medical education initiatives, and the development of freestanding emergency departments serving the region.
Today, HCA Florida Brandon Hospital has grown into one of the region's largest healthcare providers, operating six freestanding emergency departments in addition to its main hospital campus. Together, those facilities care for nearly 220,000 patients each year, including more than 165,000 emergency visits.
In announcing his return, Young said he was honored to rejoin a team committed to serving Brandon and its surrounding communities, noting that while the area has experienced tremendous growth, it has maintained the welcoming character that makes Brandon unique.
For local families, the appointment represents continued investment in one of Brandon's most essential community resources. As the area continues to expand, healthcare leadership will play an important role in ensuring residents have access to the medical services they need close to home.
