A Brandon Baby Just Couldn't Wait |
A routine drive to the hospital became an unforgettable delivery when a first-time father welcomed his daughter in a Brandon parking lot. |

For one Brandon-area family, the trip to the hospital didn't go anywhere near according to plan.
Yasser Solorzano and Aysha Tenouri were heading to the hospital Thursday night when Tenouri realized their baby wasn't going to wait for them to get there.
The couple had been on the road only a few minutes when it became clear the delivery was happening immediately. Solorzano pulled into the parking lot of Value Pawn & Jewelry in Brandon and called 911.
Then the situation became even more urgent.
Solorzano realized that the baby was breech. With no time to wait for help to arrive, the first-time father delivered his daughter himself in the front seat of their car.
About six minutes later, emergency medical crews arrived. Mother and baby were transported by ambulance to HCA Florida Brandon Hospital.
The little girl had arrived nearly four weeks early.
The couple later named their daughter Liana Valentina Solorzano. She weighed just 4 pounds, 10 ounces, but despite her early and highly unconventional entrance into the world, Liana did not need to be admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit.
Tenouri and her daughter were able to remain together at the hospital, and both were reported healthy following the delivery.
For Solorzano, what began as a drive to the hospital turned into something few first-time fathers could ever imagine—delivering his own daughter before professional help could arrive.
And for little Liana, her first few minutes of life have already given her family a Brandon story they'll be telling for years.
Sometimes, apparently, babies simply refuse to follow the schedule. |
