Halloween is just around the corner, and Brandon-area families have several opportunities to enjoy the season without traveling far from home.

Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation has announced a series of Halloween-themed activities, including costume celebrations, community gatherings, and free trunk-or-treat events.

Here are several upcoming activities worth adding to your calendar.

October 23 — Ball 4 All Halloween Dance

Location: Brandon Park & Recreation Center
Time: 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Brandon Park & Recreation Center will host a special Halloween dance for individuals with disabilities ages 16 and older.

Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and enjoy an evening of music, dancing, refreshments, and raffle prizes.

The event is free, although a $1 donation is encouraged. Registration is recommended because space is limited.

For information, call 813-802-3800.

October 25 — Brandon Trunk-or-Treat Celebrations

Two community events are scheduled for Sunday, October 25.

Oak View Plaza Trunk or Treat
743 W. Lumsden Road, Brandon
Begins at 5:30 p.m.

Opendoor Church Trunk or Treat
2908 Bell Shoals Road, Brandon
5–8:30 p.m.

Both are listed as free community events. Families should check with organizers before attending for any last-minute changes.

October 30 — Mango Park Trunk or Treat

Location: Mango Park & Recreation Center, 11717 Clay Pit Road, Seffner

Time: 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Families can enjoy decorated vehicles, Halloween costumes, candy, and an opportunity to learn more about Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation programs.

The event is free, and registration is not required.

Children are encouraged to bring their costumes and candy bags.

A Few Halloween Safety Reminders

Whether you're attending an organized event or trick-or-treating around your neighborhood, a little

preparation can help make the evening enjoyable.

Choose costumes that are easy to see after dark, carry a flashlight when walking at night, and remind children to use sidewalks and designated crossings whenever possible.

Drivers should be especially alert in residential neighborhoods where families may be walking between homes.

Plan Ahead

Dates and activities may change, so residents should confirm details before leaving home.
