A Second Chance Starts with One Visit |
Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center Helps Pets Find Forever Homes |

By Ralph
Every day, dogs and cats arrive at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center hoping for a second chance.
Some are lost pets waiting to be reunited with their families. Others have been surrendered or found as strays and are looking for a new place to call home. Behind every kennel is a unique story—and the possibility of a happy ending.
Located just a short drive from Brandon, the Pet Resource Center is Hillsborough County's only open-admission animal shelter. The center cares for animals of all breeds, ages, and medical conditions while working to reunite lost pets with their owners and find loving homes for those available for adoption.
Visitors can browse the shelter in person or search the county's Online Kennel, where available dogs and cats are updated regularly. Many pets are already Ready-to-Go, meaning they have completed their required veterinary care and can often be adopted the same day.
Adopting a pet is more than bringing home a companion. It also creates space for another animal in need and supports the shelter's mission of caring for the community's pets.
Whether you're looking for an energetic hiking partner, a playful kitten, or a quiet senior companion, your next best friend may already be waiting.
