A Brandon-area father delivered his own daughter in a parking lot after his partner went into labor before they could reach the hospital.

Yasser Solorzano and Aysha Tenouri were en route to the hospital Thursday night when it became clear the baby wouldn't wait.

Solorzano pulled into the Value Pawn & Jewelry parking lot in Brandon and called 911 — then quickly realized the baby was breech.

With no time to spare, the first-time father delivered his daughter himself in the front seat of their car.

Emergency crews arrived roughly six minutes later and transported mother and baby to HCA Florida Brandon Hospital.

The couple named their daughter Liana Valentina Solorzano. Born nearly four weeks early and weighing just 4 pounds, 10 ounces, Liana did not require neonatal intensive care — and both she and her mother were reported healthy.

Hillsborough County has launched the Rebuilding for Tomorrow Homeowner Repair and Reconstruction Program, offering federal relief to residents still recovering from Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Backed by $211 million in federal disaster-recovery funding, the program covers repairs, full reconstruction, and even reimbursement for work already completed.

Eligible homeowners could receive up to $150,000 for repairs, $350,000 for reconstruction, and $50,000 in reimbursements.
